NEW SINCEREST: 1/27/25

As I approach the end of my MFA program in Creative Writing and Environment, deep in the process of assembling, editing, and revising a thesis, I’ve found myself returning to the genre of dream pop more regularly. Music is a core component of my writing process and this thesis in particular has me reflecting on acts like Beach House and Wild Nothing, the bands who introduced me to the dream pop genre in the first place. Defined by atmosphere, walls of sound, whispery vocals, and a slippery sense of time and place, this set will immerse you into multiple different branches of the dream pop genre, a vast and expansive musical style that continues to evolve and refract itself, from forbears of the genre (Cocteau Twins, Slowdive), to revivalists (M83, School of Seven Bells), to DIY auteurs (Youth Lagoon, ML Buch).
